Novaliches is a town with two cities as it forms the northern areas of Quezon City and the whole area of North Caloocan.
The intertwined history of Novaliches started when it was created as a municipality of Bulacan on September 22, 1855. Three years later until 1901, it became part of the Province of Manila. But then, during the American occupation On June 11, 1901, Rizal Province was created and Novaliches once again was transferred and became part of the new province .
As part of economic reforms of the US Government at that time, Novaliches was absorbed by the neighboring town of Caloocan in 1903. When Quezon City became the new capital of the country In July 1948, replacing Manila, the boundary of QC was expanded northward. Novaliches was divided into two parts – half ceded to QC and the other half remained with Caloocan.
